Outlands Amouage
Released in 2024, Outlands by Amouage is amber, aromatic, warm spicy perfume with fresh spicy undertones. Crafted by Cécile Zarokian. It opens with bergamot, cardamom, elemi, frankincense, lemon and sichuan pepper, transitions through heart notes of anise, coriander, cumin, geranium, orange blossom, patchouli, rose, saffron and wormwood, and settles into a warm base of amber, ambergris, benzoin, birch, frankincense, labdanum, maltol, musk, opoponax, oud and vanilla. Good Projection and performance is long lasting 8+ hours.

Amouage's Outlands is a fascinatingly contrary creation from Cécile Zarokian that demands one's full attention. It opens with a startlingly bright and spicy citrus accord that misleadingly suggests a simple fresh fragrance, before taking a wonderfully strange turn into a creamy, almost rubbery heart that is both bizarre and compelling. The final act is a beautiful nod to its cousin, Epic Woman, settling into a slightly sweeter, heavenly aura of amber and saffron that is truly the fragrance's reward. Performance is respectable, making its presence known for a good portion of the day without any need for histrionics. It is a complex, perhaps even challenging, journey in a bottle, but one that rewards the patient and adventurous wearer with its unique character.
