A truly elegant and modern take on violet, Creed's Love in Black is a delightful surprise. It opens with a bright berry and violet leaf kick, quickly settling into a powdery violet and iris heart, softened by that unique buttery note which is quite intriguing. As a feminine scent, it’s a moderate performer, making it great for a sophisticated office setting or an elegant social gathering. This definitely feels like a modern variation of the original Love in Black, perhaps a bit smoother around the edges.
