Released in 2012, Noir by Tom Ford is amber, powdery, fresh spicy perfume with woody undertones. Crafted by Olivier Gillotin. Mystical, dark, and deep, evokes a sense of sexiness and sophistication, elegant and mature fragrance. It opens with bergamot, caraway, pink pepper, verbena and violet, transitions through heart notes of black pepper, bulgarian rose, clary sage, geranium, nutmeg and tuscan iris, and settles into a warm base of amber, benzoin, civet, indonesian patchouli leaf, leather, opoponax, styrax, vanilla and vetiver. Noir really comes across as a deeply sophisticated and somewhat mysterious scent, expertly blending powdery iris with warm amber and a distinct leather edge. This has excellent longevity and a noticeable but not overwhelming sillage, making it an ideal choice for a classy social gathering or a cool weather date night. I especially appreciate how the violet and spices keep it from becoming too heavy while retaining that signature Tom Ford richness.
