Released in 1977, Opium (1977) by Yves Saint Laurent is warm spicy, amber, woody perfume with balsamic undertones. Crafted by Jean-Louis Sieuzac, Raymond Chaillan and Jean Amic. Exotic and heady fragrance, a classic fragrance that has stood the test of time, complex with many top notes. It opens with bergamot, citruses, cloves, coriander, jasmine, mandarin orange, pepper, plum and west indian bay, transitions through heart notes of carnation, cinnamon, lily-of-the-valley, orris root, patchouli, peach, rose and sandalwood, and settles into a warm base of amber, benzoin, castoreum, cedar, coconut, incense, labdanum, musk, myrrh, opoponax, sandalwood, tolu balsam, vanilla and vetiver. Projection Monster and performance is long lasting 8+ hours.
