Released in 2009, Esquel by Xerjoff is aromatic, citrus, lavender perfume with vanilla undertones. It opens with bergamot, iris, lavender, lemon, myrtle and pink pepper, transitions through heart notes of cinnamon, nard himalayan (jatamansi), orange blossom, patchouli, petitgrain, rose and ylang-ylang, and settles into a warm base of musk, opoponax, tonka bean, vanilla and vetiver. Good Projection and performance is long lasting 8+ hours.

Esquel is a surprisingly versatile scent, a rich oriental floral that leans unisex despite being marketed toward women. Its strong projection and impressive longevity make it perfect for a night out or a formal event, though I could also see myself wearing it to the office on a colder day. The cinnamon note, in particular, is really noticeable and adds a warm spice that I find quite captivating.
