Overall scent

Malesia by Xerjoff is amber, woody, oud perfume with powdery undertones. Crafted by Chris Maurice. It opens with lily-of-the-valley, transitions through heart notes of amber and gurjan balsam, and settles into a warm base of labdanum, laotian oud, musk, tolu balsam, tonka bean and vanilla. Good Projection and performance is long lasting 8+ hours.

This fragrance is a surprisingly complex scent, opening with a brief, almost clean lily-of-the-valley before diving deep into a rich, resinous heart of amber and gurjan balsam, grounded by a powerful Laotian oud. Malesia truly feels like a luxurious, slightly dark oriental woody fragrance that definitely leans masculine on my skin. This one projects really well and lasts for ages, making it ideal for a formal evening event or a winter date night, but probably too much for a day at the office or a casual social gathering. Honestly, that initial floral touch before the woody resins kick in is what makes it stand out from other oud-heavy scents.
